My dad told me he was taking me to Aqua Magic, but he took me to a mud-bath. My brother told me we were going to play with dolls, but we played football. My friends told me to meet up in the park, but they met up at Mihaela's. I felt alone and lied to by everyone. I was only 8 years old and I was starting to find out what a lie is. Left alone in the park, I bought a bag of Gusto with a mega surprise. I ate them all and found nothing. It was summer, I was 8 years old and I learned that you cannot even trust corn puffs.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2021, the group has 3.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
