Speed dating. 7 men in 49 minutes. I'm super nervous, but I'm strong. First guy didn't introduce himself. The second one had a pink shirt on and a house out on Prelungirea Ghencea. We talked about curtains vs. drapes. The third one fished predatory fish and had the best reels. The fourth one lived life on the edge from one concert to the next. The fifth one had a retractable pen. The sixth one was a math teacher and we only talked about integral equations. The last one drank as much as he could in 7 minutes. I paid and walked home so I could laugh to myself.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2021, the group has 4.500 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
