I tripped and it went numb instantly and I catapulted myself upwards and I felt the shoes flying one by one in slow motion too and how slowly the time passes when your adrenaline kicks in and it was like I climbed too high and I made a loop in the air too and I swore like five or ten minutes, meanwhile I was feeling the skirt and the scarf and the hair fluttering and I was feeling the stares under the flutterings and the flounces and under my blouse and under my flight from which I landed in his arms and he caught me and he held me.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2021, the group has 4.500 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
