I accompanied you home with the last bus 105, I would have returned walking to the dorm. After you got inside I listened to the door, to see if your father is scalding you, I felt guilty. Just when I was about to go downstairs, in the hallway there was Lady. Reclining on a mat. Growling even in her sleep. I paralyzed. Did not have the courage to pass by her. I wanted to try a descent through the balcony of the garbage chute, but the door was locked. I gathered a few doormats and slept in between floors. Your father woke me up when he left for the office, we headed together to the bus station.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2021, the group has 4.300 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
