Daddy printed many papers, yelled the youngest one and then she gives it to us so that we play. What is written there, she asked the eldest one. Intelligent, educated man, with multiple responsibilities, in search for the soulmate after a heavy loss, impossible, intolerable, unspeakable, she syllabified. Daddy is searching for mommy, she translated. But mommy can't come anymore? Let's put an ad, maybe she will see it. And the two dresses and four tresses wafted along the both sides of the roads, sticking little squares of paper on fences, on walls, on stones, on the trunks of the trees.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2021, the group has 4.300 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
