I want a husband. Actually, no, I am sorry, not even that. I want to wake up next to someone. I know. I am asking for too much. I want a boyfriend or a man who can hold my hand or at least to tell me 'Hello, How are you doing?' from time to time. Actually no, he doesn't even have to say anything. He can be mute, deaf, blind of one eye, old, sick, aggressive, poor. I only need him to be there, at least sometimes. I apologize again, maybe it is too much to ask. I just want to know that someone reads this message. Is there anyone who does so? I am begging you. You can even write 'Go fuck yourself', but please, is there anyone reading this message?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2021, the group has 4.300 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
