You shall eat up or you shall not leave the table. You shall not make a mess or you lick off the floor. You shall not break your toys 'cause you won't get other ones. You shall not yell in the house 'cause it is not your house. You shall put your things back in their proper places as you've been told million times. You shall not get your clothes dirty, otherwise you must hand-wash them. You shall not be quiet when he drinks or feels like talking. You shall hide and not listen when he is beating her. You should know the rules by heart or you will get beaten up. You shall not cry when he kicks you because it gets on his nerves and he kicks even harder.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2021, the group has 4.300 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
