A nice old man with a raffia sack is entering the door. Do you have any of those women who swell up? We have, I answer, and I'm starting to show him all the models. Boy, don't worry, I don't want to have sex, as you call it. My old lady died, and I'm thinking about her. Don't you blow his head a little bit to see what it looks like? The old man takes out a wimple and puts it on the doll. Crikey, she looks like her. So she was the old lady. Always with a big mouth and a sour look on her face. He takes the doll, stuffs it in the sack and speaks fervently: let's go home. Now it's my turn to kick your ass.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2021, the group has 4.300 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
