I see you. After the fight, you move right across the street, another block, the same floor. In the evening, you leave the light on just for me to see you. You also left me the telescope we used to look at the stars together. I see you cooking that finger linking fine food. Now I lust looking from a distance. I see your body being embraced by others. And I lust it even more. Then I see your new dance in the window and your middle fingers up. You sure like to take revenge. I put away the telescope and take out the scope. And this, along with a rifle.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2021, the group has 4.300 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
