I've had Ricky since I was 11 years old. I'm 39 now and he's still here with me. We do everything together. He is my brother, my guardian, sometimes my father, happiness, longing and love. In the early years he was silent, but he understood everything I wanted and felt. I didn't need words. Mine used to say - he understands the hell, he just doesn't speak. Until one day, when the huge pain that was drowning me, I was about 26, made him say the first words. We've been talking every day ever since. That's right, Ricky is gone. But it remained in me.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2021, the group has 4.300 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
