We were married for 11 years and during this time we had only one fight. Fight is a strong word and it was my fault anyway. We were at a wedding, I got really drunk and I started to hit on a teenager. Of course she got angry, she took a knife from the table and stabbed me. But I'm absolutely sure she did it from love. The second day when I woke up from the coma she was crying next to the bed and was patting my forehead. Then I understood for real the meaning of the expression and how intense it feels like.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2021, the group has 5.600 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
