A melted cheese triangle whispered in the warm arms of a slice of bread that was just taken out of the oven. Both of them were nervously blushing before the great adventure. They knew their love would merge with the universe and would reach the stars, once they would pass, hugging like that, through the mixer of a starving mouth and later through the serpentine towards eternity. They were lucky. The mouth that was about to eat them up with desire was a chubby toddler's mouth, smeared with Nutella all the way up to his nose. Their love will be a sweet one.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2021, the group has 5.600 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
