A rock, a lid of a bottle of water, a small rubber wheel and a police car in a box placed in another box and then all were put in a bigger car. A doll's rag leg tied around the wooden dog's neck. A fake shorn Barbie, painted on the face, completely naked under a tractor. A rusty apple core in a castle. Two little men on a kayak on the railroad. A boat built of a book paper. Guys, what did you do in this room? A museum, mum. You enter only if you pay the ticket.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2021, the group has 5.600 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
