Sun, sand, warm water, it's like a five-star, all-inclusive hotel. But we're all vegetarians here, no meat. Yes, lacto-ovo is ok. Alcohol? We have all sorts of wine. Just the other day we had a drink with St. Peter. He made such a good Fragolino this year, it's mouth-watering. But you'll notice a funny thing: alcohol has no effect here, you won't get dizzy. Cocaine? No, sorry. What would be the purpose anyway, if we'll still be lucid? Aye, angel, what did I fast my entire life for? Where's hell, I want to go down.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2021, the group has 5.600 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
