My boyfriend says I spend too much time on my phone, that I'm no longer living in the present and life passes me by. Last night, he told me about a magnolia blossom, about the sunset colors, about the birdsong and about how big is our child now. I figured out myself that I escape many things, so I've decided just to look at the flowers, sunsets and clouds on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. On Instagram. And as for this teenager, who calls me mother, I don't know what to say to you. I'm going to question him on Tuesday.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2021, the group has 5.600 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
