With my eyes on the TV screen, I grabbed the phone and ordered the magic mascara. As soon as I got it, I run to the mirror in order to try it. My eyelashes began to grow with an incredible speed, like in fairy tales. They got to my eyebrows, they covered my forehead, they tangled into my hear, I braided them into a long tail and then I made them into a bun at the top of my head. At night, before going to sleep, I release them from the grip. They unravelled upon my face and on the bed. In the morning I found Ene suffocated through the eyelashes.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
