The energy of so many people together is overwhelming. I'm afraid I'm falling off my feet, knocked down by the force of so many inner worlds. I'm getting in. The light blinds me and, of course, I see nothing in front of me. I only hear a rumble. The guitar, the first sound of it, and the crowd explodes. I close my eyes and start singing. I open my arms and embrace Humanity. Hello, ma'am, are you crazy? Get down immediately and shut up, or I'll call the police. I took off my headphones, got off the table, and ran. I can't go to Ikea any longer.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
