What was I supposed to tell him about you? That you didn't want a child because you didn't want to assume any lifelong responsibility? That I fell in love with a man in whom I saw something which even he did not see? I did not tell him that, of course. I told him his father was a very talented man who dedicated his whole life to his career, but who, due to certain circumstances, was forced leave and become a hero. You are like Superman, so if you want to meet him, you will need to live up to expectations. If you disappoint him, I'll end you.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
