The little girl saw a cartoon where the prince only found his princess when she put on the magic shoes, of a fiery red. When she was left alone, she painted all of her dad's shoes with red paint. When he got home, the little girl exclaimed with joy, paint smudged all over tiny face: "You will find your princess, dad, and a mom for me too!" The next day, he went to work with bright red sneakers. A colleague that fancied him whispered to another: "I knew it. He's gay."

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
