For a while now, every night a voice keeps whispering in my ear: traaaitooor. I think this might have started with Mimi. After we broke up she hooked up with a classmate from university. You know, in the dorms, we had communal showers. The guy was good-looking, no question about it: tall, muscled, athletic. I wouldn't have noticed these anatomical details if I hadn't heard him screaming like a madman in the bathroom: what are you staring at, you morons, haven't you seen a small dick before? I informed poor Mimi about this. What do you think, am I really a traitor?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
