I curl my pinkie around my mum\'s pinkie and we say it together. Fear, fear, disappear, I am not alone you see, my mummy is here with me. Fear fears both of us and it disappears. Today I dance with Darkness on thunderous tunes and I walk in heels on the scaffolds of a skyscraper. I tell ghost stories to the spiders and after I fly up on the clouds I dive straight into the depths of the ocean. I howl with the wolves at the moon and I paint using pig blood. I haven\'t stepped outside in about 10 years, but I\'m a writer and life is beautiful.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
