Yeah, ma, Aah'm fine, it was pourin'all day long. It was so muddy on da way to Feresti, it was like Aah was chasin' pigs out 'ere, Aah tell ya' what. And den, dem far fighters, got us offa' da bridge, yeah wid da boat. Nah, not really, only Doina over yonder, jeez, Ah yelled after her and she hid under a willow. Aah'm sleepin' 'ere at da center, ol'deputy 'ere gave us some covers and fizz water. And some fine baloney. Gave it to da dog, poor thang's soaked. Nothin' ma, y'all have debts to pay, Aah'm fine, jus' fine, Aah'm gonna' 'ave to give da phone back to ol' deputy now. Hold yer horses, Grivei, why yuh shakin'? It's just us again, nothin's botherin' us.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
