To go under the knife a stag and return a sow, that's just nonsense. Such embarrassment was unprecedented in the entire history of your colonel of a father's lineage. How can you say you feel like a woman with what you have in your pants? No way. I made you a boy and a boy I'll bury you, and for that blasphemous thought it's time to change things around here. Cosmin, who now goes by Cosmina, studied medicine. She was the only heir to the family, and at their insistence, enrolled in the military, because healers were needed on the front. She came back not a man, but a flag.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
