In every way I tasted love. And she sang to my tune. Lost is all now. Miserable, I weep in my beard, only the sea could wash my tears away. My eyes bear the salt of foreign land and make my heart burn. Tomis is a dungeon, my dear. I write to you over and over again, but my missives hardly get to you. Every line written by your sweet hand is like ambrosia to me. Today I was able to come further south, closer to you. I bet the visited place will be a custom-house of the souls, with love free in the wind. Yours truly, Ovidius.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
