It was the place where I fell in love with my own body. After years of hating him and feeding him only water, as soon as I stepped in Vama, my body wanted to be set free. He convinced me slowly to throw away my clothes, then lie down on the sand, let the sea and the sun weigh and measure him. To let him be without wanting to change him. There I learnt to embrace my hips too wide and my breasts too small. There, sculpted by the breeze and encouraged by the rainbow, my body became my friend.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2021, the group has 6.400 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
