If I get elected - the girl declaimed while standing on the branch of the Summer Hall Tree - I myself will lead the battle and we shall conquer the Palace of the Nettles. If I get elected - the boy shouted while sitting on the Assembly Cliff - I shall have built the finest sand sledding slope which will be open to all. Aside, while biting her lip, the young elector is squeezing a pebble in her hand, the very one she's going to use to cast her vote. Should she place the pebble in the girl's mug or the boy's? Both of them had brought convincing arguments. The one who was going to lose was sure to be mad at her, but the one who was going to win undoubtedly possessed the most beautiful blue eyes she'd ever seen.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In June 2021, the group has 6.650 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
