He looked at me with those big eyes, in tears. He has a resigned and somewhat touching expression on his face. "I can't do it". "Yes, you can, that's right". "I can't". "Yes, you can". "No, I don't". "Yes". "Aaaaahhh". Think of the moments when he came home drunk and abused you both. "Yes, but". "Remember he ruined your childhood"." It's dad". "He's a monster". "Fuck. He is not the victim, you are". "I know, but I can't". "Take the can, like so, pour it all over". "Shut up once and get out of my head". "That's how you turn it on, now get out". "Wait, what are you doing? You're going to die here". "Nooo".

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In June 2021, the group has 6.650 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, setting their texts within the limit of 500 symbols (in Romanian language, so in English the limit might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise with an almost daily changed topic. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
