They lead to my changing room. This is the place I climb down in the morning. I put on the costume of a mom with a loving figure. I put the work uniform over it, and I wear the perfume of endurance. I put on the lipstick of seduction for him. I look in the mirror. They will be satisfied. In the evening, I climb down and change. I get dressed in the pyjama embellished in the powder of sleep over the dark lingerie. I look in the mirror once again. They will be satisfied. Today I will not climb down. I am undressed. Myself. I am feeling beautiful, although I have bleeding wounds and thousands of scars. They look at me frightened. I am running on the stairs, I put the mask quickly. They will be satisfied.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In June 2021, the group has 6.650 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
