He always had that condom box with him. The striped one. You know, for an intense orgasm. But she hated it. She hated the stripes and hated his obsession over always being in control. One night, she got the idea of playing Russian Roulette while he was sleeping peacefully. So she popped a small hole with a pair of scissors in one condom. It was a small hole, you needed a telescope to see it. Then, she put it back in the box. A child would have made their relationship work better. But it wasn't meant to be. She waited for a few months. In vain, though. But her best friend didn't.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In June 2021, the group has 6.650 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
