Centipede Miri's wife is at the end of her tether. The fall in the CCTD stock index on the London Stock Exchange market lowers everyone's blood-sugar levels along with their life expectancy. In the boot, it brings hysteria and tears streaming down the listless shoelace. Miri is not in the mood for a fight, he's tired after a hard day. Spitting in the wind is not as easy as it may seem, but he's not complaining. His wife made her ten-minute complaint about how he doesn't understand nor support her morally. Miri closed his eyes, dreaming about utopian rifle wars, political strategies and silent women. He fell asleep smiling.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In July 2021, the group has 6.800 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
