He angrily pressed the gas pedal and witnessed the sunrise as the headlights brightened the speedway and stars and flies blocked the view through the windshield. He took a picture in the same spot, but obviously without the two of them. He shouted at a naïve couple cuddling: "It's not on purpose, the sea doesn't cover all tracks". The next day, he printed the photo, put a stamp and wrote on the postcard from the seaside: The sea is the best place to lose your life, yet I've learned again how to swim offshore and shout if there is anyone on the other side.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2021, the group has 7.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
