Daddy, I met a boy and I want to marry him. He loves me a lot. Oh, slow down my dear girl. What's his job? He's not working, daddy, he finished school and he's been looking for a job for a year, but he's out of luck. He loves to travel and he will take me around the world. My dear daughter, you are really stupid, I don't know with whom do you look alike, both me and your mother are thrifty. You bring him home, because daddy's gonna put the hoe in his hand and show him how to work with it row by row, and then we'll see how much he loves you.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2021, the group has 7.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
