Ignar, the zookeeper, dragged his leg, to which the black-and-white ball was hooked, and began to hiss. When he was nervous, he spoke with a "sh". Sh, sh, whashu doin' man? Ever since this chick was born, it's been full to the brim with children who flock to see the wonder and laugh at it. Sh, sh, I'm not your fasher, alright? He shook his leg vigorously and gave it a gentle kick in the ass. Go on, go to the sh, sh, shkool of life, but before he managed to finish the sentence, the bear grafted a bamboo on his back and growled: it's not koala, it's panda, you asshole.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2021, the group has 7.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
