Socares, you cool cat, you sturdy fellow. What are you looking at me like that for? Have you never seen such a swell gypsy before? C'mon, let this girl put together a bouquet for you, so you may give it to your girlfriend. You've got no girlfriend? It's for your grandma? You fellas are bonkers. There was this other guy that kept calling me Eliza. I hear she's from a movie, a flower girl like me. Now go. Come back tonight, and if you buy another bouquet just like this one, I'll show you my tits. But that's it, 'cause I'm a vergin. I'm saving myself for Romică. If he finds me to be spoiled when he gets out of jail, he'll ruin both of us.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2021, the group has 7.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
