At first he didn't say anything, he just sat down on the couch, as if he was getting ready for a good movie. He seemed a bit tired, but I think it was only my impression. I didn't know what to say, so I just sat down and waited. I had a thousand questions for him, but how could I disturb God? In that time, the film began and we watched Bruce Willis together with our heart in our throats. This guy really is a die-hard, huh? I flinched. Come on, get a hold of yourself and give me some popcorn. It smells heavenly, he added, then laughed.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2021, the group has 7.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
