Yo Florin, I don't feel so well. What's the matter? I'm not at peace with what I've done. I lied to everybody, and I even stole. I stole a lot, Florin. Eh, it will go away. But we could end up in jail. We won't, calm down. I cheated both on my wife and my mistress as well, with another mistress. You don't go to jail for this. Yes, but it is constantly on my mind. But do you have this kind of thing? Surprisingly I found out I have. You're such a fool. How the hell did I introduce you in the Government? Well, I'm your brother, did you forget?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2021, the group has 7.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
