We have been wandering through the Universe for two years, waiting for the Earth to be worth living. It was a catastrophe, we were told, and people got infected with love and died. We are the only survivors. I'm writing in my journal for the last time. After this night I will be only sin and love, a criminal who does not need words anymore. It does not matter that tomorrow we will be punished. I'm pining to be held by Ilan, to show me how the world bursts into diamonds, to reach being enchained in Heavens, to infect ourselves with the killing virus.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2021, the group has 7.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
