Dear autumn, the children are well, a little taller and more tanned, a handful of them have a broken arm, but they know how to ride a bicycle. I've even left for you a few loves set upon by longing, and I pray you no longer assail them with endless rains. Spare a warm twilight for the grandparents, left alone near the hearth. Envelop them with dreams of auburn light from a grape seed, and remain gentle until they will yell at snowfall. Well, that's it, kisses and sweet fruit, I'll let you be as the Painter has just woken up and he's starting to paint my locks with russet. Your summer.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2021, the group has 7.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
