I'm immortal, due to a medical error. They failed to restore exactly the serum they gave me, so I was the guinea pig of medicine for a long time. When the war came, I was the only survivor. The first thing I did was look for other people. But they were gone. But there were the ingredients of life. And I saw the world slowly reborn, the minerals sprouted, microorganisms rose, then life diversified again. I don't want to be alone anymore. I am ready to give a rib for this.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
