The end of the world caught me masturbating. A bright light and a shattering sound blew everything around. In appearance the time had stopped and as in a slow-motion sequence, everything was floating aimlessly: pieces of concrete from the block, furniture, the lady from the second floor chopping onions, books, the lady's cat from the third floor watching her mistress copulating with the neighbor from the forth one, shoes, the lady from ground-floor with a huge vibrator, a horse, ten cockroaches, an unknown old lady. Suddenly everything around moved faster, including my hand: I ejaculated.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
