I lived through apocalypses before but never through one like this. My ass thrilled with fear a little. My meanders of the concrete were about to get clogged. Luckily that I anchored myself to the synergy of the universal deeds. For I asked Ninuța not to make pizza anymore, that pizza is a bomb and now look at what have happened. I turned off the car radio so that I could neatly park right beside the curb, I took out a cigarette and lit it from a dumbbell's corpse which was still steaming. I greedily inhaled, what a great life, Nelu, my dear, I said to myself. Smoke.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
