The first thing she did was look for her glasses. She was always losing them in the most inappropriate moments and would you believe that after the eclipse of '99 seen through the fog of a diamond ring and after getting married in secret in 2005, she had also lost the apocalypse? There was no doubt that it existed. Not after all of the shouting, the banging and the sudden darkness. Although, to tell you straight, the eclipse had some similar effects. It was believed for quite some time to have been the end of the world and the marriage soon proved itself to have been the end of her world.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
