I burned down the last book that promised us a saviour. Nobody came. Just in the last moment have we figured out that the salvation had to be found inside of ourselves. But it was too late. We just stood there, like plain idiots with our phones in our hands, taping how the asteroid hit our planet. We gathered ourself for the big finish and then, we came back to tape the whole thing. In the Univers' records it will be written that the first to disappear where the dinosaurs, followed but the species considered to be superior, the humans. But the Universe has no record.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
