I went to the bar with the neighbour. It hadn't reached us yet. We heard it on the radio and on the TV, but it hadn't reached our village yet. There were many discussions regarding the subject. I am not a well taught man, but what I really don't understand is that if the apocalypse really happened, why hadn't it reached us yet? I asked my nephew and he said that it's the end of the world as we know it. But I don't know any other world. Maybe if everybody dies, new people will appear and they will be better. Isn't this the point of a flood? To change de décor and the play?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
