When should I give it to him so as not to offend him? In the beginning, to show that I'm trustworthy? Or along the way, when I made sure she helped me? Or in the end, as a paid service? Should I put it on the table? Should I slip it into their pocket? Shall I hand it to him, respectfully? Will he count them? Are the papers too small, will he say I give him pennies? But the bigger papers are hard to change. Come on, your palms are sweating and the Envelope is getting wet. I didn't have a doctor, professor or senator in my family to ask them about this.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
