Saturday morning. Wash, dress, comb, put the headscarf on. Bring flour from the shed, make leaven, knead the crust. Take the cheese out of the pot. Break the eggs, add the cheese. Spread the dough, cut it in squares. Fill them with cheese and egg. She closes each one like an Envelope. Grease them with honey and cream, remove them browned from the oven. Take it, Dienușa, go to the neighbors. Be of your father's soul, Petrache. I go out the gate holding in my hands an Envelope powdered with vanilla sugar to the world beyond.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
