They are scattered on the unpainted wooden table, full of scratches. There are still thirty. I love you, Geta. Come on liby. Matasă, your mother wrote to you. Tell me if she still misses me. Cucule, man, you've changed your babe. That's why you go to Turda once in two weeks. You're like married, you bastard. Popescu. Straight. Twenty pushups. I can't hear the buckles. That's right, man. Paraschiv, you also received a package. Run two laps and then come to the galley to talk. This fat one is yours, Oteleanu. I was kidding, sucker. You received nothing once more.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
