I loved you so, so much. Well, not that much, but I loved you. In fact, sometimes I didn't like you. I liked you a lot, but I never loved you. In fact, had I not been patient with you, we would have never lasted that long. I knew it was over when you screamed at my mother that she didn't iron the socks well. In fact, I could barely stand you sometimes and, obviously, I never liked your cooking. In fact, why the fuck did I stay with you for so long? What an asshole. But oh, how I loved you. In fact. No.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
