I loved them all and they were all good to me. Starting with the first one which blessed me with parental love and a sister's smile, the seventh which showed me the magic of words, the one which brought me my baccalaureate diploma, the one when I wore the white veil and promised to love forever through the one which gave me little blue-eyed wonder and then the little green-eyed wonder. And the ones which tore my soul apart I accepted uncomplainingly. Today, however, I'll have to say goodbye to forty-one. Forty-two, please impress me. And please don't be the last one.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
