Dear colleagues, it is with you that I've grown professionally in this company, I've learned to do my job from you, and you've always been there for me. I think of you as my second family. Basically, I've spent most of my life with you. However, because of this crisis we've been through, our boss, the CEO informed me that a staff reduction would be inevitable. We have to admit that nothing is certain in today's world. To cut to the chase - because it's too hard for me already - I've called everyone here to tell you that we're all fired. Bad luck.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
